Feedback from last year and some of our fire-side chats with Wild adventurers got us thinking....to launch a new series on GRAVEL BASICS in 2022.
Sessions for individuals or small groups are held in the stunning Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - less than an hour from London.
The 4-hour programme starts off with demonstrations, briefings and on-bike field exercises - laying the foundation and a series of building blocks for more efficient gravel riding.
We then roll out on a variety of trails, surfaces and gradients to apply - and put into practice some of the principles and techniques.
Off-road routes are carefully planned to take into account riders' abilities and preferences - and designed to maximise the experience and enjoyment!
The emphasis is on safety and enjoyment - and our aim is to help you develop as a gravel off-roader and build confidence to enable you to get more out of your up-coming adventures.
Session content is drawn from a combination of British Cycling Coaching and Ride Leadership principles and years of experience.
If you are thinking of giving off-road riding a go - these sessions will help you to develop some of the essentials - such as ascending, descending, gear selection, cornering, braking and riding on loose and varied terrain as well as body position.
We couldn't have summed it up better than one happy customer....
"Superb gravel skills session in the Wendover Woods. Perfectly tailored instruction and practice to suit the varied needs of our group, working on cornering, braking, ride position, looking ahead and choosing your line. Really built my confidence in off-roading and tried out my new skills in beautiful woodland." JF
Sessions hosted by Wild Cycles founder, ex-pro and Springbok cyclist, John Heard.
